Chain man
This is my way of trying to express how it feels to be restricted, suppressed or even chained down by the limitations of my failing sight, when I tried to do the everyday things that I used to do easily. I just wanted to push and break free of the shackles and to run free but I guess this emotion is shared by many people through living their everyday lives.
The effect of the rust as it bleeds over the piece shows my old, familiar life leaching away.
This piece is approximately 30 inches tall, made of sandy clay and exhibited at the Barn, Ruislip.
