World destruction
Imagine you are the world? How would you react to slowly being ripped apart and violated, stripped of all your protection?
My thoughts on being the world, about what the occupants have done and are still doing. This piece is my interpretation of the world’s reaction to famine, war, global warming, deforrestation, animal extinction and the plundering of natural resources. I would be so angry, to the point of self-destruction to end it all. I’ve expressed this by the world’s hands coming out and pulling itself apart, simulating suicide.
By ripping itself apart the world is exposing it’s inner core or soul in the process of suicide.
I want to emphasise that this is not a political piece but is meant to show how anguished the world is feeling.
This piece is approximately 24 inches tall and made from stoneware clay.
Unfortunately this piece is no longer available.
